Located in Tucson, Arizona, the Academy of Math & Science is a school that believes every student can perform and achieve at the peak of his/her personal abilities with the proper guidance, instruction and guidance.

Mission Statement: "AMS is a charter school that is dedicated to providing students with a quality education; we emphasize math and science while simultaneously providing a superior education in all other aspects of the school curriculum."

-opened in 2001;
-grades served: 1-10;
-sponsored by Arizona State Board for Education;
-current enrollment: 189 students;
-small class sizes, high-tech computer lab;
-curriculum aligned with Arizona standards;
-guitar, piano, Art History, physical education, creative writing and drama classes available for all students;
-free after school tutoring program;
-over 40% of students are identified as low- income;
-8th grade AMS students have scored well on Stanford 9 and AIMS tests;
-accredited by AALE in October 2003.
