September 22-23, 2005 AALE Charter School Program is proud to announce the first ever "No Frills" Charter School Conference for member schools and interested parties. The conference will take place in Tucson, AZ and will include a showcase of AALE's five member schools that are in the Tucson area. Please email aalecharters@aale.org for more information.
June 2-4, 2005 Of interest: "Teaching Islam in the Undergraduate Curriculum," an Asheville Institute 2005 event, to be held June 2-4 at The University of North Carolina at Asheville .  The event is a forum for sharing questions, ideas, and experiences.  For further information and registration, please see the event's website.

January 26-29, 2005 AALE President Jeffrey D. Wallin speaks at Association of  American Higher Education (AAC&U) "Liberal Education and the New Academy: Raising Expectations, Keeping Promises," in San Francisco, CA.
November 30-December 1, 2004 AALE Charter School Accreditation Program partnered with the 2004 National Summit on Charter School Innovations, Show Me The Money, Show Me The Measures, presented by The Performance Institute of Washington DC. Director Sarah Cunningham and Program Officer Meghan Cotter presented on accreditation as a form of accountability to parents, the community and institutions of higher education.
April 18, 2003 AALE and the Brookings Institution co-host a roundtable discussion for liberal arts college leaders and Washington policymakers on "The Coming Accountability Revolution: Staying Ahead of the Curve" at the Brookings Institution in Washington, DC. 
December 12, 2002 AALE Director of Accreditation Francis DuVinage speaks on "Liberal Education and General Education in a Global Context" at the 10th Anniversary Workshop of the Business-University Forum of Japan
April 20-21, 2001 "Workshop on Accreditation through Student Learning Assessment," for AALE faculty fellows and their college presidents, sponsored by The Pew Charitable Trusts and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, in Washington, DC.  The meeting was highlighted by speeches from former Assistant Secretary of Post-Secondary Education Lee Fritschler and from Timothy Fuller, recently Acting President at Colorado College (read Dr. Fuller's speech). 
October 18-22, 2000 AALE presentation New Methods of Student Learning Outcomes Assessment at the National Collegiate Honors Council's 35th Annual Conference, held in Washington D.C.
August 4, 2000 AALE presentation on Accrediting General Education in Distance Learning Bachelor's Degree Programs, at the 16th Annual Conference on Distance Teaching and Learning, Madison Wisconsin.
