Located in Wake Forest, North Carolina the Franklin Academy who strives to develop children to their full potential that will lead to higher test scores, but will not "teach to the test;" to ensure that every child will be a good communicator using speech, the written word, technology and the arts; as well as to teach a sense of responsibly and civic awareness that is critical in a global environment.
 
Mission Statement: "Our mission at the Franklin Academy is to provide an environment which fosters and encourages high standards of academic achievement, creativity, technological sophistication, the love of learning, accountability, self-esteem and the development of good citizens.  Through exceptional instruction by qualified teachers in such an environment, the highest possible student outcomes will be achieved."
 
Snapshot of Franklin Academy:
     -opened in 1998 as a K-5 school, currently expanded  grades K-       12, serving 1,000 students;
     -school has adopted a Direct Instruction format for classroom
      instruction;
     -each classroom is equipped with five computer stations which
      students use in all curricular areas at all grade levels;
     -students in all grades participate in Character Education,
      emphasizing "core virtues" such as: respect, responsibility, diligence,
      honesty, compassion, perseverance;
     -accredited by AALE in November 2002.
