Site Visitors

Site visitors are teachers/scholars and/or administrators representing the liberal arts and sciences who have experience with the accreditation self-study process. Site visitors are trained by the American Academy for Liberal Education (AALE) to complete the initial step in the application review process – conducting a site evaluation visit and producing the corresponding site visit report. Site visitors are academically qualified through experience and/or education at the appropriate advanced degree level to serve as evaluators for the program or school they are selected to review.

Site visitors prepare for a site evaluation visit by reading the self-study narrative and supporting documents and evaluating the contents against the AALE Standards. Once on-site, site visitors attend classes, conduct interviews with faculty, administrators, students, and other relevant stake-holders, and tour facilities to determine the accuracy of the information presented in the self-study. After completing the site evaluation visit, site visitors present their observations and findings in a final team-written report.
